COMPETITION DESCRIPTIONS

Wonder League Robotics Competition

This is a virtual competition where students complete coding challenges with Dot, Dash and Cue robots.  Challenges occur from September to December.  In January, all code sequences are uploaded to the Wonder League portal and students are eligible for prizes.

VEX Robotics Competition

For the 2019-2020 season, our VEX IQ teams will take on the "Squared Away Challenge".  Team tasks include robot construction and programming for beginning to advanced levels. The season culminates in February 2020 at the VEX IQ Competition at El Camino College. VEX Team assignments are limited and based on student readiness and space available.

Games for Change (digital game creation)

Students learn to create their own video games that are designed to address ways to improve our larger community.  Submissions are due each March.  Students also have the option for virtual collaborate on game creation with our partnership organization in Barcelona, Spain.

WER (World Educational Robotics) International Contest

Students build Krypton 6 robots and program them to complete 4 obstacles in preparation for an international competition (The 2020 WER US Open) to be held in Southern California in the summer of 2020.
